Sharing is caring!

I can barely remember not reading.  I adore books.  Adore them!  They have been my sanctuary for decades.  And I truly love a good series.

How did this love affair start?

My grandmother started me on my first series – Nancy Drew.  I would impatiently wait to get the next one.  Back then I didn’t have money to buy my own.  Twice a year, my birthday and Christmas, my present would show up.

This went on for several years; occasionally getting another one from my mom.  Then somewhere around 14 or 15 years of age, I was introduced to a different type of book.  Romance.  Instant addiction.  One that is still going strong today.

Oh, I read other categories of novels, mystery, paranormal and fantasy.  But they all have romance in them.  All of them.

What else do I read?

I also read gardening books, books on yoga, health and becoming a truer me.  I taught Adult Ed in several topics and own books on those areas also.  Soapmaking, papermaking, vision boards and adult coloring books.

Books are my addiction and my medicine.  My hideaway and my adventures.  I can’t imagine not being able to read.

Several years ago I broke down and bought a Kindle.  I check out new authors this way, but my favs – hardback and paperback all the way.  I am currently having wall to wall bookcases put in my living room. And quite frankly, they are all not going to fit.  But I will keep buying!

How am I sharing this love of mine?

As I go along with this blog, I will be reviewing books from my library.  Books on gardening, romances of all kinds and books that have helped me get through the changes in my life.  Books that have helped me learn to love myself and let me know – I’m doing fine.

I’ll share my favorite authors and series.  I will share with you my adventures that I had when I was trying to write a romance novel….maybe someday I will finish it.  I mean, really, romance doesn’t just happen to the young!  Where are the romances about women in their 50s and 60s?  I know it happens, I have seen it!
